"I am now able to do a push up off the floor, It's not just my grandchildren that can do them now"

Meet Shirley, everyone, shared her story a while back but not sure everyone got to see that. This is what Shirley had to say. "I came to Plamen because my muscle strength was very poor due to a shoulder injury causing a major strength imbalance between my left and right arm. Plamen is an excellent trainer he listens to problems and issues and develops fitness programs around them. He's helped me overcome numerous obstacles along the way even small digestion problems I was having. My biggest accomplishment with working with him has been that I am now able to do a push up off the floor which has been a goal of mine because of my grandchildren. My attitude towards the gym has also massively improved now not only being a chore but a positive habit twice a week." Shirley came to wanting to improve and work on her an old shoulder injury she picked up from carrying her heavy bag on her same side for years. We have improved her mobility and strength around the shoulder throughout a lot of dumbbell work in order to allow us to have both sides work evenly for the pressing movements. If you have gotten to the end and are wondering what push-ups have anything do with Shirley's goal, it was inspired by the idea of her grandchildren and how they made it look pretty easy, yet it was still a real struggle for Shirley. The easiest way we worked on push progression is by starting to do them by having our feet on the floor and hands on a raised surface (making them easier) and as we got stronger we lowered the distance to the floor.
